Which USB Wireless Adapter?

Hi all

I have Windows 7 installed on my PC and I was wondering which wireless USB adapter would work best?

At present I have a Netgear PCI wireless card which wont work and I prefer the USB devices anyway.

Looking forward to any assistance. Cheers

Hi martd and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

What make and model of router are you using? You can get USB tranceivers for all of the popular makes, but it is best to use the same manufacturer for both.

Hi martd,

What ever brand it is, make sure it carries native windows 7 drivers for both 32bit and 64bit.

Stay away from netgear.
A lot of problems with netgear have been posted here before.

For the rest, just watch this thread grow with suggestions.

The growing part might take some time, maybe even a day because a lot of members are asleep right now. (different timezones)

I bought this one this past weekend. Works really good. Low price and fast shipping, too. I'm currently using it on my wife's PC running WinXP Pro and the router is a Airlink wireless G. One day when I upgrade to a wireless N router, this adapter will be all set to take advantage of the N speed, but for now, it's working great. I've only bought Airlink over the past 6 years and it's been a very good product.

Does it have native Windows 7 32bit and 64bit drivers on the CD?
Will it run well under Windows 7?

I'm not sure, but it does support Vista.

Here's the product spec for that adapter: http://www.airlink101.com/products/awll6070.php
