    Network connection query on bootup

    Hi Guys
My first post here, so this has probably been covered before. I would be grateful for someone to point me in the right direction.

My desktop connects to my router via a netgear N300 wiress USB adaptor. Also connected to my router is my media server PC which has a shared network drive.

On bootup My desktop looks for the mapped network drive before it loads the USB. So it always shows the network drive as being unavailable. This is soon sorted by double clicking on the network drive icon.

Is there a workround so that the PC looks for the network drive after loading the USB network has been established?

    Regards

    M

You can delay the query for mounting the network drive.

Or you can go through this TechNet thread with a few other options and solutions.
Help! Howto delay maping drive until network is up?

Or you can try this registry adjustment which is from the same TechNet thread.
Programs may be unable to access some network locations after you turn on User Account Control in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
