I got the same ping results. Now my laptop's ethernet port is lit up even when I disconnect it from the router. It stops lighting up when I nudge it a little.

That doesn't sound good (when you nudge it and LED's go out).

All right, try this: open an elevated command prompt and enter: netsh winsock reset catalog and press Enter.

Go ahead and reboot and see what you've got.

Unidentified network again. Could my Ethernet port just be a goner?

This was my laptops ping yesterday when vaidas3 asked for it. I don't why I didn't get the same result today.

Go to Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Administrative Tools. Double click on Services. Find IP Helper in the list. You should see it listed as "started" and "automatic". Right click on it and select properties. Set it to "disabled", select the stop button and click OK. Close everything and reboot.

First go back and reverse what you did for IP Helper (set to auto and start it).
