Creating multiple desktop environments which remote connection

Hi everyone,

I have just set up my new htpc on windows 7 ultimate x64 and it is running great.
I do however have a small problem with something I am trying to get running.

It is something very similar to linux's vncserver in which you can create multiple desktop environments on the host pc and then allow clients to remote connect to them, so this means that a remotely connected viewer is running software on the host , but not interfering with the hosts primary display.

I would like to be able to do this on windows, my idea is this (for example):

I would like to install some software onto my htpc however my girlfriend is currently watching something on it, (I do realise that she could pause it and wait) so to get around this, I have set up my htpc to create a second desktop. I then connected to that and we are both working on the same pc without interfering with what the other is doing.

Hope I made that clear.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
