Motorola Sb6141 modem problems with windows 7

I recently changed my modem from a ubee to a motorola surfboard SB6141, I have two desktop computers one with windows 7 home premium 64 bit and the other is XP Pro X64 edition plus a toshiba laptop with windows7 home premium 64 bit. the only computer that will get a ip address is my XP desktop and my sons PS3 both windows 7 computers will not grab a ip address from the surfboard. I have been on the phone with comcast and they have no clue on my issue, they say since these are my modems and not leased ones from them that they will have to charge me if I have a tech out to the house,
Why will these computers not grab a dynamic address from the surfboard or comcast.

    Any help is appreciated, Thanks

Had the exact same problem, also with Comcast. Turns out the Motorola has a "packet flooding filter" enabled by default.

The resultant Lag /packets dropped made the modem timeout.

I hated the Ubee because its range was terrible, I couldnt do port forwarding, and it was a "G" router. I upgraded my service to get the problem. I ran not walked to a linksys.

Are you using the SB6121 to hand out ip addresses, or it is connected to a router that hands out the ip addresses?

I posted the wrong product number it is a SB6141 not SB 6121, I have connected alll my computers directly to the modem the only computer that connects is my XP and my sons PS3. I have also tried to connect my netgear FVS118g switch and my trendnet wireless router to the modem with the same results, nothing will get a dynamic address.
