How to share files between 2 OS

HI,

I am planning on configuring dual boot on my laptop (Win 7 and win 8). I was following this tutorial How To Dual Boot Windows 7 and Windows 8. The tutorial is pretty self-explanatory but the only thing I can't find anywhere is if I will be able to share files between these 2 OS?

Can I share files, if yes, then how?

Thanks

Have a look at this tutorial, in particular the last item, Seamless File Sharing, for a good explanation of how to share your personal data between the two operating systems.

How To Seamlessly Dual-Boot Windows 7 and Windows 8 (The Easy Way) - How-To Geek

If you need to use the same application on both operating systems, you would need to install it on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.

No, you don't have to create a virtual machine.

Just create your dual-boot, and then follow the last bit of the tutorial that explains how to share your files.

Another way would be to create a data partition and use that for your personal data. That way, both operating systems will be able to access it.

What I would do is leave the files in place where they are and then on each install browse to them, rightclick each User folder to add to the relevant Library - Include a Folder - Windows 7 Forums.

This requires little trouble and when you click on Documents, Pics, Music, etc everything from both installs will be before you, you can copy them between the two as you wish.
