Network connection when trying to access online games.

Hello, my network connection has been dropping when I try to play any online game (I've tried 3 different games). I can browse, stream video/music. As well as download at speeds over 1MBs. But whenever I open an online game windows notifies me that I have no internet connection, but shows that I am still wirelessly connected to my router. This computer is brand new and has a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. This computer is the only one in the home having the issue, there are several other devices that are able to connect wirelessly with no issue. I have tried 2 different brand new wireless cards, with the newest drivers. I've also assured that my motherboard has the newest drivers. My event viewer shows several issue pertaining to both DNS issues, and to the Wlan.config I believe. I will check when I get home later this evening on the exact errors and their error codes. My next step is to try to reset my winsock and TCP/IP stack. Then I'm going to try wireshark to attempt to isolate the issue. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue or any suggestions on how to resolve the issue. Also Wlan is the service that controls you network connectivity, I was wondering if I can disable it and use third party software in its place to resolve the issue. Thank you very much in advance.

Have you checked that your firewall isn't blocking the game? You should be getting a popup from Windows firewall saying something along the lines of it blocked program X, do you want to allow or deny it (you need to tab out of the game to see it, or if you're playing in a window, move it a bit).

Yeah, windows firewall is the only firewall installed on the computer. And I have it turned off currently.

I tried reseting my Winsock and TCP/IP protocol stack. It's still happening.

After using wireshark to test my network, there are a lot of problems with TCP packets being send to and from my computer. Most of them pertain to window size issues. I'm not very familiar with tweaking TCP/IP settings, any one have some suggestions? Also is it possible the router is causing the issue?

Well after digging into my event viewer I found that the cause of the whole issue was a DNS issue. The event ID was 1014. I followed all of microsofts advice from their website, and yes the problem is still there. Not only that but now my connection is dropping whether im playing a game of just browsing.
