Hi people, my first post here. I'm a web-apps programmer with a very (sorry) basic knowledge of windows. I know, it's a shame...
Because of a malware and the subsequent avira antivir fix, I'm having a huge problem with wshelper.dll.
I have an admin account, and I run xampp server for local development.
After the virus, xampp is running but none of my browser (localhost and 127.0.0.1) are giving any response.
I've recreated the system32\drivers\etc\host
file as shown at microsoft, and now I'm trying to reset netsh winsock
, but via cmd I get a "wshelper.dll missing", so I'm stuck. I've checked, the dlls are where they have to be (system32, system64, syswow64).
Just to know, when I launch my eclipse android emulator I get a "DNS server missing" message.
So, my question(s):
Do I have to overwrite the dlls with a copy?
If yes, how do I have to procede? De-authorize the 3 sys folders or there is another way?
thanks in advance.
