Att Internet connection problem. Dell Inspiron laptop, please help.

Hi, I'm new to the forum for this exact problem, I'll have to start from a couple of months ago. I have had Att DSL service for years now and I play Call of Duty online of PS3. I decided that I wanted better speeds for my gaming, so I tried a new service called Excede by Wildblue. This is a satellite powered internet service, I didn't know that satellite internet was bad for gaming at the time. We were stuck with them for a couple of weeks but finally got rid of the service a couple hundred dollars later. I just now tried to reconnect our Att service today and I ran into the problem of no Default Gateway and no media server connection. I was also on the phone with an Att representative the whole time I was doing so. After hours of double-checking and failed attempts at troubleshooting, we finally gave up on the situation although I would really like my connection back TOMORROW! (A friend that I haven't played with in a while is getting to a connection tomorrow.) I then tried to take matters into my own hands, I did have a random anit-virus on my computer called K7TS (K7 Total Security) and I completely turned it off just in case of firewall encounters. Nothing has changed. However, I did get an internet connection eventually but not the way I'd prefer, it was a broadband connection which wouldn't work for my PS3 (My PS3 must be connected wirelessly due to ethernet port complications, I think it was struck by lightning.. Lol) The big mystery to me is, I think that I have to reconnect my modem (Att Motorola Netopia 2210-02 Modem) to the Att service. It's hard to do so when my computer won't even allow me to connect to the device webpage (192.168.1.254). I'm sorry for this rather complicated problem, if pictures are required, I can probably get them. I'm writing this forum while connected to my Droid X's wifi. Please help me, I've fixed problems before but this one is seeming to be impossible to fix. Thanks in advance for any help I recieve.

Hello techguy and welcome to Seven Forums.

When you were talking with AT&T did they have you reset the modem to its default settings and then let it reconfigure? Unless something happened to physically damage the modem a reset should have gotten internet connectivity.
