New Windows 7 Install doesnt find internet Router

I installed windows7 premium and my first option was to connect to the internet but in the system tray it says no connections are available. So I opened the Network Sharing and clicked on install new wireless router connection. Then i got the message that said it could take up to 90 seconds to find my router. But it never found my router after 3 minutes.

Even with my Laptop plugged into the router with a network cable there was not Internet or router to be seen. I cant be more specific right now because i had to boot into windows8 to get the Internet and ask what Network Driver I need to Install!

    | is the same key as \ using the shift. Right below the Backspace key
but copy/paste will work just fine.

Pff, US people! there is only US keyboard and nothing else

Turkish Q has it at ALT GR + - for example. I use US Q for my desktop though, so yeah shift + \

    In Windows 8 Shift + \ = |
but in Windows7 it does not it gives you the same upper case special character that is on a typical keyboard us..

and I can not copy and paste the Command you suggested because i am using the same laptop and booting back out into windows 8 to post on this forum.

Do you have drivers installed in Device Manager under Network Devices?

If not install your wireless and ethernet drivers from the PC or device's Support Downloads webpage

This should cause the network to become visible from the icon in System Tray, or for ethernet it should immediately connect. Sometimes it does require a router and modem reboot though.

If this fails, rightclick the network icon in System tray to run Troubleshooter.

Does it show in your network and sharing page that a cable is plugged in. If so can u ping 127.0.0.1, and also run tracrt and copy and paste results so we can get an idea of what is going on and where the problem might be.

I just booted out of win7 and into 8 , before seeing your post. I did notice in Device Manager that under OTHER Devices, there was ethernet controller, network controller and usb driver listed as unkown devices.

I cant copy and paste any test results from Win7, without the internet.

I did notice when i was in Networking, Connections that WIRELESS is not installed. What that is or how to install the things gregrocker is talking about. I am not sure, Without the internet.

The devices driver update searches my computer for files, but there is no software except on the USB drive that i just installed the windows 7 from. the usb drive reports it has no needed drivers.

I will need 12 hours break or so now... i will try more then and get back to see if there are any other tios by then. ( I will check to see if there is anything under network devices.)
