Why is my newly built computer not getting full internet speed?

So I built a new computer yesterday and when I ran a speed test today I was only getting 9.5mbps when I usually get over 30mbps. It has something to do with this computer since my other computer is getting 30mbps. And yes this computer is connected directly through and ethernet cable. Any suggestions anyone?

You might want to check out the Advanced settings for this adaptor in Device Manager.

Make sure that flow control is disabled and that the Speed duplex settings are in Auto Negotiation mode.

It might also be worth going to the manufacture's site for your motherboard to obtain the latest drivers.

Are you connected over ethernet (LAN) or Wi-Fi?
