network slow to connect after booting up

Hi all

I find my machine W7 guest os is slow in connecting to the network after booting up.
It has not always been like that though I cannot remember when it started. It boots fine and then the exclamation mark comes on and it takes maybe 30 seconds till it connects.
Has anyone come across this? Can this be fixed?
Update
Just downloaded soluto and notice MSSE takes 29 sec. to load.

Hi,

We'll need some more information to help diagnose. You mentioned Win7 Guest OS. So I assume you are running a virtual machine. If that is the case, which virtual platform are you running it under? (VirtualBox, VMware, etc)

Also if it is a virtual guest, what are the specs on the system? 32 or 64 bit, CPU, RAM, and virtual guest settings?

VMWare Fusion 4.x
32 bit guest OS w7 Ult, 1 processor core, 2.4gb memory(guest). Host with 6gb mem.
no shared folder, no 3d graphics, bridged network.

Event viewer: Could not find a solution for this yet.
The HomeGroup Listener service terminated with service-specific error %%-2147023143.
nor could I find something for the following:
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{C97FCC79-E628-407D-AE68-A06AD6D8B4D1}
and APPID
{344ED43D-D086-4961-86A6-1106F4ACAD9B}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

One thing you could try is to delete and create a new virtual network connection using VMware's Virtual Network Editor. I'm not sure where that is in Fusion but you can create a new bridged connection to the host interface and then attach it to the VM. I also recommend disabling HomeGroup services if you aren't using them.
