windows 7 unidentified network, No internet access

Hi, after trying to set something with netsh in a dos script, I can't access internet anymore. nothing wrong in "local area connection" properties (ipv4- ip and dns is set to auto.)
Tried disabling dhcp client service and restarted my router.
I get ""Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration" when I try to "diagnose the connection", it doesnt fix the problem and suggest me to restart router.
oh and I noticed Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.187.177, thats weird, thats wasnt there.

    Code:

Hello UnderPL Welcome to the Seven Forums!

The first method for restoring a working connection would be to shut everything down. Powering off the desktop or laptop, unplugging or switching the router off, and unplugging or turning the modem(dsl or cable generally).

You can unplug the ethernet cable from router to modem while that generally isn't necessary with it unplugged. Once all that is taken care of you wait about a half minute and then either turn on or replug the modem used and allow that to resync with the ISP(Internet Service Provider).

That will usually only take a matter of seconds to see that happen while waiting a full minute will insure that is complete. The next step from there is to turn on or replug the router and allow that to pose as the pc in order to establish a private IP. A new Mac address and IP will then be seen to.

The last step is powering up the pc hopefully having the network discovery box in the internet connections settings checked for automatic discovery. Once you are back at the desktop you then go into the Control Panel>Network & Sharing Center to run the Network troubleshooter if the network icon hasn't already turned from a red X to green by then.

This should automatically detect and apply repair for the active connection that was re-established. You'll know when you see the Home, Work, Public screen appear for selecting the type of network.

You likely went a little too fast the first time around to see that. When first switching over from one ISP to another and losing the connection a few times when going from the old outdated dsl by usb requiring a driver I had to get familiar with resetting the connection for cable.

Recently when the ISP switched from the owned modem to a new one adding Voice over IP I had to replug the desktop into the router rather then seeing the four ethernet jacks and do this all over again. The same for two laptops sharing the router as well where everything had to off first and then allow the modem then router each to resync.

At least now you won't be getting stumped by allowing just those few more seconds!
