Just FYI, this thread has already gotten out of control for a very simple issue, but you can simply set the DNS settings for the static IP to be the address of your router. I have a Cisco E3000 also. You do NOT need to disable DHCP on the router. If you do that, you'll always have to define a static IP for every device that connects. It is advisable to set the reservations on the router config though.

    Glad you got it working.

    Hi guys,

Sorry for getting back to you so late but school and finals has kept me busy. I'm good now.

Anyway I used the suggestion Zepher gave.....

Though it's way to early to tell if they'll be future problems I do have internet connection and was even able to connect remotely. Just need to see if they're stick, they should but....

Anyways thanks for the inputs. All is good for now :)

    Peace
Maybe your confused because that is the exact configuration that I just posted?

Of course the settings will stick, you are using a static IP now.

Heck even Zepher thanked me for pointing out that the static IP should be moved out of the DHCP range of IP's.

Anyway, glad you have it working.

Its comments like these that create confrontation. The case has been stated, the issue fixed, time to move on. And as I said before, it may be simple to you, but not to others. I don't apologize for that

    @ Chev65,

Even though I used your image, it was Zepher who posted the fix first. I just used your image for brevity reasons; yours was smaller than his.

Anyway thanks to all who posted.

    I'm out. Peace
