Slow internet speeds HP Pavillion DV7
Sorry if this has already been brought up, or if I am in the wrong forum.
Just purchased my DV7 today, set it all up, and the wireless internet connection seems to be very very poor. Currently I am on a 20mb line, and on my old Compaq laptop and my mobile connected via wireless I can obtain speeds of 18-20mbps. However when I run a speed check on the same website on the new computer, it skips and jumps, freezes, and only manages a speed of between 2-6mbps.
Any suggestions if the router settings need changing? I do have a new router on order from my ISP and a speed upgrade also coming soon, but wondering if there is anything I can do in the meantime?
Edit: I am using Google Chrome as my browser, tried IE9 and the same happens. I just ran another test and it started at 0.85mbps, jumped to 9mbps, froze, then levelled out at 5.5mbps
I have connected via the eternet cable and this is working fine wired. All other Laptops and wifi devices in the house are connecting fine over wifi.
Solved, Changed encrypton to TKIP,
