My Friend's Internet Just Stopped Working

My friend is starting to have internet problems and I'm trying to help him get it fixed. He is not able to connect to any website but he is still able to talk to me on Skype. I'm thinking it might be some setting because we were doing some changes before his internet stopped working. We put his settings back to what they were before but his internet still doesn't work. All I know is his Skype somehow still works and he is able to talk to me.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Danielzxzx,

Is this a wired or wireless issue?

Have your friend open up the browser and check the browser setting, see if there's any proxy and have him/her remove it if found. How to Remove Proxy Settings

Also, make sure that both LAN and WLAN settings are set to Auto IP or DHCP.

    An update will be nice.

He has tried both wired and wireless.

    He doesn't have any proxies.

He did everything that link you send me told him to do. He already had NetBIOS as Default but he didn't have Obtain an IP address automatically or Obtain DNS server address automatically checked. He had the other option to use the one listed. Both automatically settings are now ticked but his internet still isn't working.

EDIT: Found out it is possible to get on something in the internet but it is really really slow and barely anything loads. Anything that could be causing this?

How's his connection if he bypass the router? Is he using a separate Modem and Router?
What's his workaround regarding this statement?

Please have him boot to Safe Mode with Networking and repeatedly tap F8 and select this mode. Can he replicate the issue? Is his internet browsing better.

It won't hurt for him to install and run Free SuperAntispyware and remove any possible infections found. I also use and would recommend Eset online scanner.
