Can't get a Belkin router to work in Win 7

The problem is not with the router or the ADSL dataline--Win 7 keeps turning the ethernet connector off. I had this working just fine a while back, but things happen and I had to reinstall Win 7. Now It won't work at all.

When I boot Win 7, immediately after it turns on the audio, the light on the ethernet connector goes out, and when 7 finally comes up, it shows "no connection available" . The LAN control in BIOS is good, and other OSs that I have on the HD don't have any problem. I've had 7 for a couple of years, and have not had any problems with it at all. Is it possible that I simply got a bad install?? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated...

I've got no idea but is the ethernet controller listed in the Device Manager?

Thanks for the reply--turns out, the ethernet drivers on the motherboard DVD were not adequate. I downloaded a new driver specifically for Win 7 and everything came up roses..
