Can't see computer on my network Had it working before I had to re-install Windows.
Main PC running Windows 7 Pro.
Other PC is running Linux, Samba.
Using a wireless router at main PC end.
Both machines can ping the router and each other.
But Linux machine is not visible in Network.
Have a BluRay player on network as well, and it sees the main PC.
No Homegroup.
Set as Home network.
File and printer sharing turned on.
Network Discovery turned on.
Password protect turned off.
Now stuck. | My System Specs |

Yup - that is how I test them pinging each other! I should have made notes when I did it originally.
I fixed the workgroup name problem. Now I see PUPSERVER but can't get to PUPSERVER\pupshare. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Built-up OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit CPU Intel i3-3220 3.3GHz Motherboard Gigabyte Memory 4GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX650 1GB Sound Card On-board Realtek Monitor(s) Displays LGL1719S Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Microsoft Mouse AOpen PSU 450W Case AOpen Cooling Case fan, CPU fan, PSU fanf. Fixed. Was workgroup name. But I have to keep running back to the spare-room where the Linux PC is - if I go more than a few minutes without transferring data it forgets its setup. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Built-up OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit CPU Intel i3-3220 3.3GHz Motherboard Gigabyte Memory 4GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX650 1GB Sound Card On-board Realtek Monitor(s) Displays LGL1719S Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Microsoft Mouse AOpen PSU 450W Case AOpen Cooling Case fan, CPU fan, PSU fanf. Using a different workgroup name to WORKGROUP - forgot to change it on Windows machine when I re-installed Windows. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Built-up OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit CPU Intel i3-3220 3.3GHz Motherboard Gigabyte Memory 4GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX650 1GB Sound Card On-board Realtek Monitor(s) Displays LGL1719S Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Microsoft Mouse AOpen PSU 450W Case AOpen Cooling Case fan, CPU fan, PSU fanf.
