Connection problem

Lately my laptop speed has decreased alot (last few days)
Its only 6.5Mbps now, normally 54Mbps (of course you never reach that speed)
But according to my router i'm recieving 65Mbps.
But i know the problem is on my laptop itself as my other pc can still surf as fast(games too).

Try updating your wireless driver and updating your routers firmware.

Does your laptop use wireless N at all or just G. It may be time for a router upgrade if your laptop can use wireless N.

At the bottom right next to the clock, that area is called the notification area. In that area you will see your wireless internet connection. Click that connectin, then find your wireless connection by name and the right click it and click status. This will give you your connection strength as well as what type of connection...ie G or N.

I'm guessing with the reported 54Mbps, that the router is G. To find out what type of connection your laptop has we need the exact make and model of your laptop
