Windows network lag, computer lag spikes

I installed windows 7 RC a few days ago, and every 2-10 seconds it would spike with lag, the mouse would jump and the internet would do the same i would get a consistent low rate and every now and then it would jump to normal.

I found out the problem was with my network card, i had to roll back the driver on my network card for it to work properly.

Now my network card updates itself every now and then and i have to go back and change it again.

I was wondering if anybody else has had similar problems like this, and or found a permanent fix for this

Im thinking something with RAM, or the Paging file? how much RAM do you have installed, (only part of the system spec you didnt fill out >.<) ?

Well a temporary solution is to stop it updating itself, till we find a permanent solution.

I've been having the same issue for some time now. Just haven't had the time or gumption to look into it and do something about it. I'm curious, what type and brand is your network card? I'm using a wireless card (Linksys). My lag spikes seem to be limited to the network (playing games, watching streaming video). I'm convinced that this has something to do with Windows 7 since I never had these issues until I installed the RC release.

BTW, I have 8GB of RAM and my system disk is a Raptor (10k RPM). I'm pretty sure this isn't related to anything other than my network.

Im sorry, i thought that RC stood for retail copy.
I have the full version of it, not the beta.
    anyways i have a Ralink 802.11n card, i don't remember the model.
Yeah it happens every few times i start up my computer, its just a hassle, nothing too serious though

Ok. Not sure if you and I were having the same exact problem then. I'm actually going through another thread (slowly) trying to see if a solution has been found that I can try. As of now, though, I have to live with the incredibly annoying aspect to Windows 7.
