No browsers work aside from IE x64, Chrome gives Error 137

I am certain that my Internet problems are resultant from a virus that I had downloaded. A friend and I determined that the virus was a Sirefef variation.

Whenever I try to connect to any website in any browser aside from Internet Explorer x64 (Chrome, Firefox), the page will not load, and in Chrome, I get the following:

Quote:
This webpage is not available

The webpage at <any url here> might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Error 137 (net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED): Unknown error.
Firefox does not give any error message, aside from stating that it cannot connect to the webpage.

I have run: MBAM (found some things; removed), TDSSKiller (found nothing), Microsoft Security Scanner (found some things; removed), and SUPERAntiSpyware (found nothing).

When attempting to update, MBAM displays this error:

I have tried "netsh winsock reset" and a few variations, and none have worked.

My firewall seems to be bugged, but I do not know how to fix it. I think that this is a result of the virus.

Sorry if this is lengthy or anything, but I'm sorta desperate to get this fixed. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the welcome!

Unfortunately, I do not have any medium that I can use for WDO (the closest thing I have to a USB drive is my iPod, and I have no idea where it is at the moment). Attempting to creat a .ISO file so that I could mount it did not work either; this is the screen it gave me:

Is there anything else I could try?

Everything points to a DNS issue - I just cannot figure out why the 64bit browser works.

See if Chrome can get to Google directly via IP (without DNS) http://74.125.227.134/

You can try SFC - but I'm not sure it will help:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Run it several times.

I can access all websites via their IP, regardless of the browser.

SFC did not change anything, reporting that there were no integrity violations.

What else can I try?

Can you use the 64bit IE to update Malwarebytes manually via this link...
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/dat...mbam-rules.exe
...and scan with that?

Buy a cheap USB flash drive - WDO only needs ~250MB.

Or just do this: Repair Install

I updated MBAM, and it found a lot of other things, but deleting them and restarting the computer did not help. I will try to get a flash drive later today.

So I've poked around my computer some and I've found that it is impossible for me to get the firewall working correctly. Is there any way I can fix this?

MBAM found lots of things you posted. What did it find?
You posted you could access the net. Then download What is Windows Defender Offline? up date it and run it. Just like UsernameIssues
has requested. Your firewall and all those problems can be caused by a virus ect. We must know your system is clean. Getting something to download WDO to is your job.

I was finally able to get a hold of a flash drive and put WDO on it. I rebooted and ran a quick scan (found nothing), and then a full scan (found a couple things, LOIC, a keygen and a file I can't remember the name of [WDO identified it as "Bert.A or Bart.A or something like that]). Any other suggestions?
