No wireless internet - it complains about passphrase mismatch.

Clicking on internet icon and asking for wireless, it say: passphrase mismatch; I know it is the correct passphrase.

Don't know if following got anything to do with it:

Using USB wifi dongle, works on non Windows operating system.

List of available networks does not give Virginmedia15xx.. which is the default, but Virginmedia16xx.. which is an alternative. Perhaps the problem is that the passphrase is associated with Virginmedia15xx..?? Instead? of the default it say 'Broadband Connection'.

Running the fault finding wizard it say that the problem is no preferred thing is set.

    Thanks any help. Not knowledgeable.

Try removing all existing wireless connections and starting fresh:

    1. Click Start and select Control Panel.
    2. Open Network and Sharing Center.
    3. Click Manage Wireless Networks.
    4. Remove all wireless network listed in this list.
    5. Restart computer and reconnect to your wireless network.

Great thanks. It's working but it's all a bit weird.

Had told Windows to have a dial up or VAP or something, so deleted that.

There were no wireless networks listed. So added virginmedia64xx.. which was listed when left click the internet icon at the base of the screen. It accepted that, but it did not work.

So added virginmedia15xx.. , the default, this was accepted but did not work.

So clicked 'Other Network' or something in the pop up from left clicking the internet icon. Filled it in for virginmedia15xx.. , this worked.

May not have done things in above order exactly.

    Thanks again.
