    how to create local area connection


    hi!
    how can i create a local area connection?
    when i installed my windows 7 it came without a 'LAC' and i can't connect to the internet.

    i have done every step from that site and it didn't work.

    please answer some questions so assistance will be easier.
    1. what internet service provider are you using?
    2. do you have a modem and/or router? if so brand and model#
    3. brand/model# of computer
    4. are you trying to make a wired or wireless connection?
    5. how are you currently posting to this site (as it requires a connection)?
    6. can you try connecting the computer to the connection that you are currently using?

    also seethese refer to Vista but Win7 is the same)

    Change TCP/IP settings

    in steps 4 and 6 of the last link use 'Obtain an IP address automatically' and 'Obtain DNS server address automatically'.

    Most likely you just need to obtain the proper Windows 7 drivers for your Dell N7110 from the Dell site. :)
