Xbox 360 through router to PC problem

Ok, so I have been using a netgear router that was connected to my xbox 360 and pc so that I could use WMC. It always worked very well until one day there was an IP address conflict and I had to disconnect it all and restart my router. I tried to hook the cables back in the way they were and now here's what happens...

I have the internet cable hooked up in the main port, port 1 has a cable that is supposed to go to my 360 and port 2 goes to my pc.

Now, when I hook in the cable from port 1 to my xbox, it immediately disconnects from Xbox live. I then reconnect and it usually signs back in. However, when I plug in the cable from Port 2 to my PC, it disconnects again sometimes giving me an IP address conflict. It used to work flawlessly and was preferred because I could watch media types more efficiently with a hardwired connection. I can use WMC wirelessly as I'm doing now, but it's much slower. How can I set up my router or PC settings to allow me to connect the Xbox and PC through the router to work with WMC again, and without disconnecting me from xbox live?
