I know there are other posts the same as this one. But they didnt help me because they were not what i wanted.(on to my question) I want to change my ip address without losing any connection to the router. I want to do this because i have an IP conflict with the printer. Any help on this? my brother is controlling the printer but he is away.
If the router is set up properly (as is the printer) this shouldn't be possible. The best way, especially if you have no access to the router's configuration, is to open a command prompt and type in the following commands:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
If you do that a few times, you might get a new address. The only other option to is to change it on the printer.
i have to Agree with DeaconFrost , And best practise to avoid this counterpart is to set the printer IP address manually , and Set DHCP Pool range Appropriately for the host systems !
