Wireless devices can see network but not connect Hi, i am new to this forum and am having difficulty in getting a wireless connection to my Netgear DG834GUv5 wireless modem/router.
5 days ago my 2 laptops running windows 7 and 2 iphones could all connect to the wireless network and onto the web. Now all of them can see the home network mark100 but not connect.
The laptops get to the part wher you add the password but then still gail to connect.
The iphones (which i do not want help with) can see the network but again try to connect but are unable to.
My warranty has expired on the router and they want me to pay for an extended warranty, which i would rather not do considering i believe this has happended before to me and was fixed quite easily, i just cant remember how.
As all 4 devices will not connect I assume its a modem/router fault
I look forward to any advice | My System Specs |

I look forward to any advice In these types of cases it's required that you reset the modem/router using the reset button or you can try unplugging the unit for ten minutes.
After that you will need to go through the router's set up page and type in the required settings like SSID, wireless password, type of security and encryption, which should be WPA2 and AES. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built OS Windows 7 Ult, Windows 8 Pro, CPU Q9650-4.275GHz, E8600 4.5GHz, E6750-3.8GHz Motherboard Evga 780i FTW Memory G.Skill PC2 9600 1200Mhz 5 5 5 15 2T Graphics Card GTX480 Sound Card Asus Xonar D2 Monitor(s) Displays HannsG Screen Resolution 1680X1050 Keyboard Logitech G15 Mouse Logitech G9 PSU ThermalTake Toughpower 1000Watt modular Case ThermalTake XaserV Cooling Xigmatek S1283 Hard Drives GSkill Phoenix Pro 120GB SSD Internet Speed T1 |

Try a simple reboot (power off/on) of the router before you do a reset. If a reboot doesn't do the trick then consider a reset. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 3.4Ghz 3770K i7, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft PSU Antec Case Antec 100 Cooling CM 212+ Hard Drives 128G SSD OS; 1.5T & 2T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7. Hi, I tried the on/off and that didnt work, then I tried the reboot to factory default by pressing the 2 black buttons on the top of the unit and then going to router set up page 10.1.1.1 and calling the new network mark 101 and keeping the original settings.
It worked
Thank you very much | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit |
