Is there a way for windows to accept non-numeric Proxy address?

Hi everyone,

I have a non numeric proxy address that is working fine with iphone ios (manual proxy). I want to use this proxy on windows 7 but when i setup in internet explorer proxy, it doesn't work. So I have the port # and proxy address looks like this n8.example.com.

Is there any way I can use this non numeric proxy in Windows 7?
