How would one share or connect to a network share from WinRE
I'm trying to share a folder from WinRE. I was trying to do this from the command prompt using the net share command but it doesn't seem to work when booting from the Windows 7 DVD.
I tried a DVD with SP1 and without. When I type net share in the command prompt it states: The service name is invalid. Also I tried entering the System32 folder of my installed Windows but still no luck (this trick works sometimes for some commands that don't run from x:\sources).
I was thinking if there is a mean to enable the net service something like: 'sc start "service"' but I don't know which service/s have to be enabled to run the "net share" and "net use" commands from WinRE.
Now you guys must be guessing: Why would one want to share a folder from WinRE?
The answer: I'm trying to do a image system restore but Windows won't locate the image and there is no option to specify the location on the local disk.
So my idea was to 1.) share the drive where the image is located. 2.) Go to System Image Restore -> Advanced -> choose a location from the network -> Specify something like: \\Minint-MPRLBBA\share (The name of the WinRE hostname + sharename)
Any help will be welcome, thanks in advance. Ricardo Bohner.
