How do I match Homegroup permissions to Network permissions?

This is my first time setting up a home network involving my laptop and desktop.

I've created a HomeGroup on my desktop and managed to share the printer successfully as well as my music library. HOWEVER, when I look further down on the left in Windows Explorer (underneath the HomeGroup visible directories), I see Network is showing Users--> and all of the files and folders in the user accounts on the other computer.

So the Network settings are basically circumventing (bypassing) the settings I've made for HomeGroup (because in HomeGroup I've only enabled sharing of Printers and Music)!!!

How do I get what appears under Networks to match and be in synch with the settings of HomeGroup? Should I not be seeing the same?
