Networking Error message when trying to access shared files

    I have a W7 desktop and laptop.

My desktop can access shared files on my laptop just fine.

But for my laptop to access files on my desktop I have to have a password on my desktop and have it set to "password protected sharing." I guess this is not a big issue but I don't really want a password on my desktop because it doesn't go anywhere and it's another startup step...

I've tried taking the password off the laptop but that didn't help either.

If you don't want the hassle of signing into your desktop you can set it up for automatic sign in by just typing netplwiz into the run box. The tutorial below shows you how.

    Log On Automatically at Startup
