Remote desktop disconnected session

Hi, I RDP into my Windows 7 Enterprise workstation and then start programs and leave them running, and disconnect either by killing the RDP client or clicking on Start -> Disconnect. Either way I find that when I RDP back in immediately (30 seconds or so), I have my previously disconnected desktop, but after about 5 minutes or so when I RDP back in it appears the disconnected session has logged off and I get a new "clean" desktop.

Anyway to force the disconnected remote session to stay that way (in a "locked" state)? I have also tried "locking" before disconnecting but no change.

Thansk
