Services.msc: Set DNS Client to Automatic, Access Denied

When I try to start DNS Client via Service.msc, I have to first do Right click > Properties > Startup type: Automatic > Apply > Start > OK

When I click Apply, I get a message saying Access Denied. I *am* the Administrator.

Note: The problem is not exclusively DNS Client service: there are other services that do that.

With UAC enabled this is the type of messages you will be seeing, even if you are the Admin.

Besides the obvious fix of disabling UAC there are various ways to work around this problem listed in the link below.

UAC *is* disabled. And I have been launching Services by doing:
Start -> Right-Click Services -> Run as administrator...

Have you tried running the sfc/scannow command to see if there are any file integrity problems?

Why isn't it already set to Automatic? Maybe something is messing with your system.

When did that problem start? Go back to a restore point prior to problems.
