IP address reservation (x64 Windows 7)

Hello to everyone!

I have a small problem which is, to put it simply, annoying. I use my home router with addres reservation on 3 machines, however, the x64 Windows 7 machine never seems to have the right IP address (IPv4). I assigned the IP address based on the physical address of the machine but Windows 7 never seem to get the right IP. I tried disabling IPv6 but it didn't help.

I have thought of setting my IP manually in Windows (I even tried it and it worked) but I do not want to have these settings since it is a labtop and I also use it for work and other networks...

If anybody know the solution to the problem please let me know.

Did you use the correct MAC address? Hope you realize, Windows 7 does not control the DHCP server so your problem lies there.

yes i used the correct MAC address since the router automatically finds all attached deviceshe and I also checed the MAC address via ipconfig.

I am using Netgear WGR614v6...

Yet another Realtec NIC with problems. sghun try doing a search of the forum for Realtec for possible solutions.

If I repair the problem on the taskbar icon, then it maybe works. But if I turn of the computer for the night, and when I start it the next day the internet doesnt works. If I repair it maybe good, but when I restart only, it hasn't got problems.
Please help, because I don't want to repair every day! If there's a solution please tell!

You should start a new thread because you dont have the exact same problem and it gets really confusing to reply to 2 ppl on one thread. teh OP has a router you dont. OP has 3 computers. See what I mean

ultraplanet - i have an Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG NIC and this same NIC was working properly before, when I used XP for quite some time...

Need to confirm that the DHCP service is in fact sending the correct IP address. You should probably use a packet sniffer for that just to be sure. If it is sending the correct information. There are only two things I can think of. Something you installed that inter-mangles with the network and DHCP client. Or the device driver for your NIC is corrupting the data. (Granted if the driver is corrupting data then packet sniffing would fail?)

I can assure you, Windows 7 is not actively disobeying the DHCP server on its own accord.
