Howto check if a connection is active when multiple connections activ?

Well, I have a WiFi router and I connect to it by using both my WiFi adapters in my laptop, so when doing ipconfig I get this:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Users\Rafal>ipconfig
Windows IP Configuration

Wireless LAN adapter WiFi:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::f1c9:2363:e008:c3f5%17
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.28
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
Wireless LAN adapter USB300N:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.29
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

And then one time I had no internet, not really what I expected, by connecting to the network with two adapters I expect to not have that many drops, meaning if one adapter loses connection the other still has it, right? and reverse too.
But now I had a situation where my internet droped, I did ping 192.168.1.1 and there was no response, so I ping 192.168.1.28 and 192.168.1.29 and the ping works, so it doesn't ping it via the router.
Now my questions are:
1)How can I determine from which adapter/connection I have internet?
2)How can I determine if one or both adapters lost connecton to the WiFi router?
3)How can I force a connection to be used without disconnecting/disabling an other connection?

You may not realize it but your machine is only using one of those connections at a time.

If you are having dropped connections it's most likely from not using a clear channel for the wireless or you have other active virtual adaptors which should be disabled, like the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adaptor for instance.

You didn't show the entire ipconfig so I can only assume which adaptors you might have active.

so still no joy? Is windows really that bad that it doesn't allow me to 'ping' via a chosen connection? I 'MUST' use the default connection?
