Windows 7: tcpip 4199 error

I keep finding the 4199 tcpip error in event log and the details are:



The system detected an address conflict for IP address 2600:1007:b01d:6d21:88e6:fd40:df60:7f6f with the system having network hardware address 02-50-F3-00-00-00. Network operations on this system may be disrupted as a result.

Any ideas what may cause this??? My computer is only about 2 months old and I have 1800 events in event viewer. Why?????

It seems that there is another device on your network that is using the same IP address as your PC. Try changing your pc to a static IP.

1. click "start" "run" type in "cmd"
2. When a new window opens type in "ipconfig" you should get something like step 3
3. IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.X
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.X
4 change the X to a different number (between 1 and 254 - don't use the routers IP - this will be shown when you use the ipconfig command shown as default gateway

To change your IP to a static IP address follow the pic below

In command prompt:
Do you see 02-50-F3-00-00-00?
Do same on other computers in your home

Here is what I get.

To find the offending hardware.

1. Check the DHCP client table in the Linksys router, they use it as the DHCP server, but can’t find another networking device using the same IP.
   
2. Ping –a 192.168.1.2, it replies without host name.
   
3. Use ARP –a 192.168.1.2, find the Mac address is 00.50.18.0a.c3.ec. From the Mac address, we find it is a D-Link wireless router added last week.

In this case it appears as if there were two DHCP servers on the same network. The fix would be to disable DHCP on one of the routers or A/P's.

In other cases I believe this could be from assigning static IP's that are within the range of the DHCP IP addresses.

I do not use a router. The only internet device I use is a verizon usb modem. I have disabled the realtech Ethernet card since I do not have a cable modem or router. Here is what i get with ipconfig:

How are you connected to the modem (via usb or Ethernet) ?

Via usb modem. It is a verizon pantech uml290.

You should call Verizon for this problem as it's clearly something wrong with the modem and some sort of IPv6 conflict. Resetting the modem would be my first option.
