| | Getting only half the broadband speed being sent to router Hi All I know I am lucky to have a 100mb internet connection (virginmedia) But I speed test and only get about 47mb (This is using my PC hard wired directly to the superhub).HOWEVER, when I run my PC in SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING I get around 102 to 104mb ( which is great if I only used safemode). Therefore something is draing my connection. I have scanned for Malware, Viruses ans disabled most things in the MSCONFIG but still no improvement. I attach 3 screenshots which may be of those who know about these things Any help would be great Thanks Rob |

| | My first guess would be to blame AVG. Try starting up with out AVG then testing for connection speed might help. |

If you can post the ipconfig/all from this machine I might be able to spot other problems. |

| | contact your isp as they may have dealt with similar cases and be able to point you to the issue easily. |

| | Could be problem with your ISP, contact them and most ISPs with good customer support even send in a Technician to diagnose the problem =) |

| | Thanks guys for all your help and support. At 03:35 this morning I suddenly woke and thought. What If I start the PC in Safe mode with Networking, check all the services running. and list them on a spreadsheet then restart in normal mode and do the same. I can then do an internet search on what each service does and if its Superfluous. I will let you know if there is a real bandwidth Killer on my system Thanks again |

| | The ipconfig looks good. You might try looking at the task manager to see which running process are using your network and slowing down the connection. |
