Are both machines running WIN 7?
Are you using just 1 router/modem/switch for your connection?

Both of the machines are running windows 7
I am using 1 router and a modem together
only 1 pc can make home group the other does not even have an option to join or create its just stuck on the troubleshooter

I recently just tried turning off and on the peer to peer networking although when I tried to turn on home group listener it could not turn on it gave me an error code 2147467262

Try the steps in the link below. You may need to go into Folder Options and choose the option to allow viewing of hidden files and folders.

    Cannot leave Homegroup

Those so called performance programs are all total fail just in case you had any doubts about them.

Windows 7 works just fine on it's own without any help. :)

If you want a good registry cleaner use the free version of CCleaner. CCleaner - Download

It's the only one that doesn't mess things up.
