How do I get the Modem to stay connected when inactive

Hi All
In my Acer Iconia tab W501P I have problems staying connected 3G over a longer period.
The signal is fine, and the Network Sharing Center says it is connected, but IE and other programs cannot access anything. This happens every 15-20 minutes. To avoid this I tried to stream online radio constantly..and that solves the issue. But it is a rather stupid fix. So do you know of any program that can "fake " internet activity (since this seems to be the problem) or does anyone have an URL to a really lowbitrate internet radio. It dosent matter what they play, i simply turn the sound out for that application.

Or even better, does anyone have a different solution. And I have already checked all the powersaving config in advanced mode to avoid this being an issue.
The modem is a HUAWEI EM820w (build in)

best regards MrB
