    Wpa1/wpa2

    Hi all, help please!

Needing to know about WPA1 vs WPA2. Have a client who runs WPA1 across multiple sites. Some of the laptops they are using will only connect using WPA2. They wish to standardise on WPA1 across the sites with same user access details, and are about to purchase a lot of new hardware. These will be running W7Pro.

Can anyone tell me if W7Pro is able to connect using WPA1.

    Many thanks,

    Aaron

    Welcome to Seven Forums,

According to this: "WPA2-PSK/WPA-PSK supports WPA1 (and WPA2 but HF doesn't support WPA2)".
You'll have to do a research on what type wireless network adapters(built-in or not) the computers will have and if this will support WPA1, it should work with Windows 7.

Also, WPA1-PSK is not as secured as WPA2 that uses AES encryption, you should inform your client about the security issue. WPA2 Enterprise is even better.
