Why are libraries so buggy :/

See my other thread complaining about the lack of library-sharing customization here: Libraries auto-shared through media streaming?

You can argue that thats intended, even if its stupid. But I've recently been finding folders that are NOT apart of any library being streamed to my media server (ps3). Most recent example being Public/Recorded TV. Now, if you read my above thread, I would love it if you could only stream specific folders within the library.. ie: public. But it doesnt work that way, you have to share your entire library or nothing. Even though all the public folders are 'shared', media servers wont find them unless you have media streaming enabled for the libraries. So I turn off public "sharing", and turn on library streaming: and what do I see but this non-library folder being shared to my media center for no apparent reason. I went as far as to delete all my libraries, leaving only one pointing to an empty folder. What shows up on my ps3? That empty folder, and public/recorded tv.

This may not be a big deal to some of you, but I find it extremely irritating that I cant be in total control over what is shared on my network.. especially since I broadcast wifi for various devices. It's like I can never know whats going to pop up there :/

Why not simply create a second library containing only the items you wish to share - deny sharing for the first and allow for the second - you can even include the second library in the first so that you can have access to both the shared and non-shared items in a singe place.

As for the public folders these are only present for ease of sharing - if they are empty then nothing will be shared

Because you can't do that for Media Streaming. It's all the libraries or nothing. Go try it.
