Choosing internet access point for certain applications

    Hi there,

I hope you are well. I have an issue you might help me with.

I am currently using internet on DSL on Local Area Connection. It is not a dial up connection. I also have a WiFi access point. Now, I want my all the applicatons like browsers, Yahoo, Live Messenger etc. to use internet through LAN as usual but there is this application for which I want to use internet for through WiFi, not LAN.

Just like Proxy Firewall, you choose for different applications the different proxies. Like this, I want different connections for different applications. I hope you get what I am saying. Thanks for your time. I hope you will reply on your earliest. Waiting for your kind replies.

    Thank You.

Cannot. Windows will only ever use one connection for the internet, always. This is done so on purpose, networking is complicated otherwise on the client end.

I just thought that if we can suggest different proxies for different applications in Windows, why not specify different access points for different applications. Like one app uses internet from LAN and other from WiFi. It is just because that I can connect both WiFi and LAN at the same time. I mean, in Network and Sharing Center, they both say "Connected" and both have Internet Access enabled.

Selecting different proxies is different to selecting different internet connections, those proxies all use the same underlying connection.
