How do I identify my user name to log onto Win7 from XP across network

I have just set up a new Win7 computer and am trying to access the HD across a home wireless network from my XP laptop. XP can see the Win7 but it is asking for USER NAME and PASSWORD. I put in, what i think is, my user name on the Win7 in the dialog box and then put in the password that I use to log into the Win7 when I boot it up but it rejects these. I went to look on the Win7 for user name and password and can't seem to find it in PROPERTIES of COMUPTER.

Can anyone help me with where the info it's asking for can be found?

    Thanks,

    Ken

    Welcome to Seven Forums,

Make sure that you have identical user names and passwords on both Windows 7 and XP computers if you wish to access each computer. If you have created and/or own the computers you would have been an Admin and able to create the User Accounts. Here's a tutorial on how to access and create a user account in Windows 7.
