Cannot connect to router after sleep mode.

Hi, hopefully someone can help me out as I'm not very knowledgeable.

    Here's the scoop:

I have a desktop pc running windows 7, part of my homegroup, which is shared with a laptop and about 4 other devices.

    I have a n600 belkin dualband router.

The problem only happens with the desktop pc enters sleep mode. Upon waking, I cannot connect to the network nor have internet access.

I have turned on my phones hotspot and can get online. The only thing that usually fixes it is a restart.

The desktop connects to the network via a D-link n150 usb thing.

    Thanks in advance.

Farqual, welcome to the windows 7 forum.

You might want to check the power options of your network adapter, Looks like it is powering down when not used for a while. go to devices and check under properties of the power options on your ethernet adapter, making sure that it is not checked to allow the OS to turn off to save power.
