    Remote Desktop does not connect

I am the administrator for my church's networked computers. My work computer is running Windows 7 Pro. I have a need to access my computer from home. My home computer is running Vista Ultimate 64. I sent an invitation from the work computer which I have received at home. When I double-click on the invitation file, the file opens in IE as html and I cannot connect to the remote computer. Any insight will be helpful.

I've never been a fan of MS remote desktop connection because of the permissions and OS compatibility issues. This is why I like to use TeamViewer. A very simple and easy to use piece of software.

Bassfisher6522's reply headed me in the right direction. I settled on LogMeIn as being the best fit.

I've tried LogMeIn as well but I found that teamviewer was much easier for me and my clients.
