System continues to treat an old network connection as if it were new
As of recently, I have set up a tether with my Samsung Epic 4G to use while I'm at work. The connection itself isn't the problem, but how my system treats it. I went through preliminary set up, and I have my laptop remember the connection, to automatically connect to it. But now, every time I connect to it, the the dialog that asks whether the connection is a public, home, or work connection always appears, as if it were a new connection every time. Not only that, but every connection I establish with the tether is numbered, as shown in the screenshot.
Any way I can get Windows 7 to stop doing this? It's nothing affecting the connection, but it really is a huge annoyance to me.
