    Limited Access to networks?

    Okay,

Since last Sunday, I haven't been able to connect to my two wireless networks. When I tried connecting to them, it said the connection was unsuccessful and that I had limited connectivity to the network. I call my Internet service and they say that mu ip address is invalid, so I need to renew it. Any ideas on. How to fix it?

If you can post a screen shot of the ipconfig/all from this machine it would be helpful. :)

    Re-Boot your modem.
List your equipment, OS, router, modem, wifi adapter/s in laptop. and Service type/provider.
Reset everything, in order, one at a time. Do a hard factory reset, holding reset pin down for 30 seconds w/ power on, continue holding, for 30 seconds w/ power off, then another 30 w/ power on, then turn it off for a ~10 seconds and power on. Wait 5 min, and go to the next in line.
Modem, 1st, then router/AP, then wifi adapter. Know your broadcast band, use N if you have it, ON both ends, can't broadcast it if you Can't receive it.

Rebooting (factory reset) causes your modem to call to upline for config file. This internodal system is redundant, self-healing and robust. It's hardware that doesn't heal, usually bad weather, or Human error.

Guessing at network configurations doesn't usually work too well. Telling people to reset everything before the facts are in wouldn't be my first choice.

I'd prefer the ipconfig/all if you don't mind.

Ahh ok, well I'm not too good at guessing. :)

You just type ipconfig/all into an elevated command prompt then using the snipping tool to make the picture.

You would probably need to send the screen shot to the kindle then post from there.

It sounds like you may have a static IP set up in the IPv4 properties for this connection since the modem seems to be complaining about it. You would need to remove anything in IPv4 properties window if that was the case.

What would I need to look out for in regarding removing any settings?

Sk type ipconfig/all into a command prompt? And how would I send that to my kindle?

    Wireless Autoconfig.

This is how you set your Wireless Autoconfiguration:

    *Click on start

    *Right Click on My Computer

    *Left Click on Manage

*In the Middle Column Large Box---Double Click on "Services and Applications"
    Double Click on "Services"

*Scroll all the way to 4th one from the bottom "WLAN Autoconfig" and double click that.

Next you will see a box with a category :Start up type, which will either say "Automatic or Manual" If it's manual- Click Drop Down Menu and Select Automatic.

If it's already Automatic, you can click on stop and then start again.

Hope this might be of some help

    By the way,
You can also try These Suggestion in no particular order:
    _____________________________________________________________________
*Click on Wireless Network List (Bottom of TaskBar)
*Put your mouse on the Wireless network you wish to connect to and Right Click
*Left Click on Status and then Click on Diagnose.

If there are problems with connecting, Windows may be able to fix it.
    ________________________________________________________
    If not:
    ______________________________________________
    *Click on Start
    *Right Click on My Computer
    *Click on Properties
    *Click on Device Manager
*Look for "Network Adaptors" put your mouse on arrow to the left of it- (it will highlight Blue with your mouse on it) Click on this arrow= and it will give you subcategories.
*Look for the "Wireless" Category one
*Put your mouse on this one and Right Click then left click on Disable- You will be prompted to verify and click "Yes" Don't worry-
*Then Put your mouse on it (Wireless Network Category) Right click on it and select "Enable"

This will reset your wireless Adaptor.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________
These Suggestions will help to restore your wireless network connection, or at least help you troubleshoot

Although you can't connect to the internet, When you click on your Browser- You should get a message something like "Webpage cannot be Displayed"

Below this should be a link to Diagnose which you can click on.

If these steps don't work- Perhaps try a "System Restore"

Again, hope some of this will help.
