    Hi Ron,

Not necessarily - does the printer have wireless capability? If you aren't sure, post the make and model of the printer, and I'll look it up for you.

to save you waiting robin ,i had a google it seems the epson 1400 is wireless and there is a tutorial here how to set it up,

How to Connect an Epson 1400 to a Router for Wireless Printing | eHow.com

halfway down this page there is instructions how to connect the epson r285

    http://esupport.epson-europe.com/Vie...003D&cl=1#toc2

its a very safe bet if you purchased a laptop for your wife then it would connect wirelessly to the home hub

then she can connect from the laptop to the printer. you could also still have a wired connection to the printer from the desktop pc upstairs ,if the printer was close enough.

Neither printer you listed has wireless capabilities. Are they currently connected to a computer? If so, you could share the printers from the computer they are connected to on the network and be able to access them from other devices. The drawback is that the computer the printer is attached to would need to be up and running in order for you to print.

If your router has a USB port, you can plug the printer into it and use the instructions Boobah linked to in order to setup the printer. If your router does not have USB ports then this won't be an option.

If the phone you are getting has wifi capabilities then there shouldn't be any problem connecting to your router as long as you the ssid of the router and the passkey for it.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. Was busy over the week.
You can simply install iTunes and connect your iPhone and use ur phone as an Internet Hotspot.
Which iPhone do you have? iPhone 3GS, 4, 4s? If you have iPhone 4 or higher, you can use Personal Hotspot feature on your iPhone and use Wi-Fi tethering and access the internet on your computer.

While most replies are mostly concerned about setting up the hardware, I'd like to point out something you should check.

Check the telco contract for the phone about how much you can use it to surf the internet. Some do have limits in GBs and some do have limits in time. Some (rare) are flat (you pay fixed price reagrdless).

I say this because most contracts for phones were ok for phone usage, but will be very tight for what you do with a computer.
