Hi everyone!
This is my first time posting here so I will try to make it as short and sweet as I can. Also, I consider myself to be partially knowledgeable about computer parts, but completely lack any know-how of what to do when it comes to networking and Internet.
So basically I live in a house with 4 people: my parents, my sister, and myself. My mom and step-dad work out in the office trailer on the other side of our property with a different router and ISP entirely. Inside the house that leaves me and my sister. We both have our respective machines, mine being a custom built desktop by Microtel, and my sister with a Mac laptop.
Ever since we moved here and gotten our new router, my router/computer have started to have this problem. At random times, my router will lose Internet Access and the only way to re-establish connection is to go down to the icon in the bottom right of my screen, disconnect, and reconnect. However recently it has gotten to be so bad that my router won't remain connected to the Internet for more than 5 minutes at a time. I'm not sure what to do and I'm at my wit's end dealing with it, so I was hoping I could get some help!
Router: Actiontec MI424WR-Gen3I
ISP: Verizon Fios
Internet Speed: According to Speedtest.net, I get almost 50 down and 18 up.
Message me or shoot me a message on Skype (Username: Slymanbran) if you need any more info or might have a solution! Thanks!
Edit: Might not have been clear enough in mentioning that this doesn't happen to my sister on her laptop or and of my friend's who might be in my room for one reason or another, only me.
