Network icon and time/date missing from System Tray Hi, I have an Asus Eeepc Netbook with Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I don't see the network icon (for some reason it disappeared) or the time in system tray. I went through the steps outlined here unsuccessfully. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks.
(I checked Device Manager and there are no conflicts, the network adapters are all there and showing no problems). | My System Specs |

hi DanRex, thanks for your reply, unfortunately that little icon that you're mentioning is not present either. The only icons that are in the system tray are: Desktop button, Norton Internet Security, Synaptics Touchpad and Remove Hardware. Then there is as usual a vertical line that separates the system tray from the taskbar. Any other clue? try restarting explorer.exe
from the task manager.
scroll to explorer.exe click it /end process
then in task manager click file/new task (Run)
then type explorer.exe in the run window
if that fails then try running an sfc scan 3 times SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Hewlett packard/p6512uk OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7600 CPU IIx4 amd athelon 635 processor Motherboard FOXCONN 2AA9 Memory 2x2gb Graphics Card ati radeon HD 5450 Sound Card (1) Realtek High Definition Audio (2) AMD High Definition Monitor(s) Displays samsung lcd tv 32" Screen Resolution 1360x 768 Keyboard wireless hp Mouse wireless Hp,optical PSU ? I also ran CHKDSK, found no errors either. I finally "solved" the issue the hard way: Windows clean reinstall. No problems now. However, I wish I knew how to actually solve the issue without having to reinstall everything again. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Dimension 8200/Personal Build OS Windows XP Professional SP3/Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Pentium 4 3.06GHz Northwood/Intel Core i7 3770K Motherboard North Bridge:Intel Tehama i850(E)/Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe Memory 2 Gb RDRAM Dual Channel/GSkill 32GB DDR3 1866 Graphics Card ATI ALL-IN-WONDER X800 XT AGP/MSI GTX 660 Ti PE Sound Card Voyetra Turtle Beach Santa Cruz PCI/Onboard Realtek HD Monitor(s) Displays Viewsonic VP230mb ViewPanel Screen Resolution 1600x1200 32bit Keyboard Dell Multimedia keyboard Mouse Logitech Cordless MouseMan® Optical M-RM63 PSU Dell OEM/Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 850W TPG-850M Case Dell OEM/Corsair Obsidian 650DW-1 Midtower Cooling Dell OEM/Noctua NH-D14 Hard Drives Western Digital 500Gb IDE drive (main drive) (XP PC)
