    No wireless connection option?

    Hello!

I purchased an ASUS A55A series laptop today and I cannot access the internet...well wireless-ly.
The little icon on the bottom is an image of a cable instead of the wifi bars. I opened Network and Sharing, but it says I can only connect to a broadband. When I try to connect to a network, it does not give me the option for a wireless connection. I also troubleshooted and it suggested to plug in a cable. I did go to Device Manager and it has the Realtek thing under Network but it was the only driver it had. Does this mean I don't have a wireless adapter? I thought the wireless stuff was already installed. And I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with my router since my old laptop and my brother's laptop is working fine. Please help! Thank you in advance!

    Specs:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
    Processor: Intel®CoreTM i5-3210M (2.5GHz)
    Graphics: Intel GMA HD
    Wireless: 802.11 b/g/n
    LAN: 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet
Memory: 4GB DDR3 (1600 MHz SDRAM, 2 x SODIMM socket for expansion up to 8GB SDRAM)
    Storage: 750GB 5400RPM

    Hi,

I would suggest you to install wireless driver from the Drivers disc which you must have received from the manufacturer. Else, Update Wireless card drivers from manufacturer’s website using wired connection.

Or if you have received any software CD for this Wireless: 802.11 b/g/n, then try installing the driver from that CD.

    Hi all!

@Debbie B: I followed your instructions and it worked like a charm! (Although I had to download two different drivers and I kinda freaked out when the first one didn't work lol.) Thank you so much! :)
@rraod: Thank you for the link! I shall have that saved as a bookmark or something so I can look back at it if I ever have troubles again.

Thank you all once again and have a wonderful day!
